A month ago, when 49 people were slaughtered in a gay club, we were told the blame lay at our feet, because if only everyone were allowed to carry a gun, we’d be safe.
Today, after a black man was held down, shot at close range and murdered, and we’re told he would have been safe if only he hadn’t been armed.
Which is it?
Yeah, that’s because he was a convicted child rapist with severe more instances of domestic violence and assault on his record. He wasn’t legally allowed to own a gun.
However, nobody is saying that he would have been safe if he had not been carrying a gun. That’s not an argument anyone is using. He would have been safe if he hadn’t challenged the police.
Maybe it’s because these white people that killed don’t have a criminal history, and have no pictures of themselves in “the books”, so they have to search their social media/phones.. and that’s all that’s there. :) The black man, Alton Sterling, had a criminal history and had a picture of himself in the books.
